Redshank

The Redshank (Tringa totanus) is a favourite wader of mine – common, but a real challenge to get close enough to photograph.

They’re a vociferous bird, and this can be a problem for photographers because when they flush they kick up an almighty ruckus, scaring off every other bird in the area.
