Reed bunting

The Reed bunting (Emberiza schoenlicus) is probably the commonest bunting in the UK.

A confiding bird, its many plumage variations can give even experienced birders pause for thought until – usually – a flash of white edges to the bird’s tail identifies it as a reed bunting.
