Washington Wildfowl Trust
I’ll be honest and say that I’m not that keen on this place, but there are birds under your nose, and I was in the mood for “easy”.
I had no sooner paid my £7.30 entrance fee (it says £7.20 on the door, but hey…) than the first annoyance of the day stuck.
On an inner door – the one that opens onto the site – was a notice about maintenance work being undertaken on one of the main lakes (the Wader Scrape) which meant there’s be no birds around: had that sign been on the door at the entrance I probably wouldn’t have bothered…
So, feeling just a bit ripped off, I stepped onto the site. The weather was great though – tons of light – so although I’m not really a fan of “plastic” birds, I got some pretty nice images.
These are all converted in Bibble 5 Preview, and I continue to be impressed by the IQ and sharpness benefits it provides.

Eider
really like the ruddy shelduck but not sure about the background, I also like the second common crane interesting pose looks like he is a bit unsure as to what he thinks you are up to or perhaps he’s just unsure about yourself.
The eider is also very nice too
Aye, the Ruddy Shelduck’s BG isn’t the best, is it?
And you’ve picked up on why I posted the second Crane – that’s an odd expression for a bird to pull!
I don’t really like the Eider myself – but that’s partly because it just reminds that we’ve lost our access to them at Blyth harbour. That still winds me up.
